Sutherland’s Second Fight

Darren Sutherland continues his road to stardom with his second professional fight in Wigan next month.

He will fight against Siarhei Navarka of Belarus in the Robin Park Arena in Wigan, England.

Sutherland began his professional career with a first round destruction of Geogi Iliev in DCU last December.

“Dazzler” has been touted by many as Ireland’s first world champion since Steve Collins and this fight aims to increase his experience before tackling tougher opponents.

His super-middleweight bout will be on the undercard of Jamie Moore’s European title challenge.

Sutherland’s promoter Frank Maloney explains that the fight should help to show Darren’s potential to a wider audience.

“It will be a big show and it will introduce him to the English fans as well which is also part of our plan.

“Out of the other former Olympians we feel we are kind of ahead. It’ll be just to push him forward and keep us on front of them so they’re chasing him all the time.”

The fight will take place on Friday March 6th and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
