The blazer is back, back, back

This Autumn, the blazer is back, having taken a long break from the wardrobes of the masses. The blazer is the must have piece for every fashion savvy girl (and guy) to see them through until the spring. And there is something for everyone and every occasion where the blazer is concerned.
The classic single breasted blazer is a firm favourite and is widely available all across the high street. River Island boasts a huge selection of jackets in a wide variety of colours. Black is probably the most versatile colour to invest in, but grey, white and navy are also popular for a more unique take of the trend. The lining in many of the blazers available is quite funky too, so roll up the sleeves for an edgy look. This classic jacket is perfect to smarten up a jeans-and-sneakers day time look. Dress the look up by swopping sneakers for ankle boots for a New York street style. The blazer is also perfect for giving this season’s super frilly dresses a relaxed tomboy feel.
If River Island is a little out of your budget, fear not. New Look have a fantastic selection of blazers for a fraction of the cost. This satin blazer is perfect for dressing up a day time outfit, and is well cut and a slim fit. New Look also have some great blazers with ruched or padded shoulders, following another huge autumn trend so it is definitely worth a look.
One of the most popular types of blazers among celebs is not for the fashion faint hearted. That shiny, glittery disco ball jacket that you have seen adorning many fashion pages is now available to one and all. The Balmain-inspired jacket follows on from the sequined body-con dresses and disco hotpants of Lady Gaga and Pixie Lott and is an easy way to wear the trend without looking like a Christmas tree. If you are tentative about wearing an all glitter item of clothing, try a glitzy blazer in black. Teamed with a plain tee and skinny jeans, or shorts, the sequined blazer is a showstopper and will make you stand out from the crowd.
