DCU’s Chief Operations Officer (COO) has confirmed that DCU will not reopen and all teaching will continue to be done online.

In a statement, COO Declan Raftery said: “Following the statement by An Taoiseach on St. Patrick’s night, it is clear that we will not be in a position to resume ‘normal’ on-campus activities this semester”.

“All teaching and assessment/examinations will be conducted on-line for the remainder of this academic year,” said Raftery.

According to Raftery, there will be activity within DCU to assist the HSE to slow the spread of the coronavirus. As part of this, a contact tracing centre is being established on campus this week, and this will be led by the School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health.
