[dropcap]DCU[/dropcap] SU’s Diversity week was held last week which focused on giving equal representation to all students with regards to their collective identity from a cultural, religious and sexual orientation perspective.
A total of 45 students have enrolled in an 8-week Bystander Intervention program that Welfare Officer Cody Byrne says will teach participants how to safely intervene in situations which may escalate into sexual assaults.
Three candidates; Alison Ring, Cody Byrne and Shane Parsons, compete for the role of DCU Students’ Union Welfare Officer 16/17 in the SU election. The College View spoke to the three candidates about their SU welfare goals.
Cody Byrne is a final year Psychology student. Byrne is the chairperson the Irish division of the largest student led organization in the world, a class rep and a student ambassador. He believes that he has the work ethic one requires for this role.
