National Transport Authority plan to replace Leap Cards

Leap cards will be replaced by the ability to pay for travel through mobile phones, bank cards, contactless bank cards or official ID. All of these forms of payment require user data so the anonymous option is through QR codes or some sort of electronic token.


Commission proposes to seal abuse records

The commission’s report, known as the Ryan reports, was published in May 2009 and detailed accounts from abuse survivors of Irish industrial schools from 1936 to 1970, stating that approximately 170,000 children were admitted during this period. The personal accounts submitted by survivors were both confidentially anonymous and credited.
